This my 2nd review of hosting companies and unfortunately it's for bad experience. I'm writing this while waiting FatCow support to help me. This is my 5th live chat support. And it just for the first day of purchasing.

e to try hosting in FC after reading some seo expert articles, when usually his article is good, I have to say this one is just for affiliate money.

I had used almost 15 different hosting companies, and FC is the worse of all. Here is what I found in few hours using their service:
- Their Mojomarketplace to install wordpress is not working, and yet they still have the icon and the page to install it, resulting waste my time to figure out why it cannot be installed and turns out the support said it have issues.. *first boom*
- So I need to install Wordpress manually, ok, i have experience of this, no worries. So i use their 'file manager' to upload the wordpress.zip, but where the hell is the 'extract' button??? resulting me to transfer all the folder using ftp. *second boom*
- Ok, the wordpress folder transferred succesfully, now I can't access the install page as usual.. so I get the live chat support again to ask why??? turns out I need to register my existing domain. Geez, usually this already automatic when register at the first time and I'm sure they have input field and I input my domain name. If it is not automatic, why bother ask?? *third boom*
- Anyway, the support manage to help me, so i can open the install page as usual. I can move on now. (that's what I think).. and yes I got stuck again in the database server name, while usually i can put as localhost or automatically generate by the system, it turns out i need to ask AGAIN to support what need to be inputted, I have to input "mydomain.fatcow.bla bla bla" which I don't get that information in anywhere. I mean, cmon man, if you know it's gonna be asked by user, please generate it automatically. so troublesome. *fourth boom*
- Ok, now I manage to have a fresh wordpress installation, its time to write some articles, install plugin, install new theme, and test my homepage. voila it works. almost... Now my post link url resulting in 404 error. As I am a FatCow experience user, now i know, go to support.. Hell yeah.. give my error, and they resolve it in about 4-5 mins. I'm curious, I ask them what the issues, it turns out they have to edit .htaccess file for my permalink codes. OHH.. MY.. GOD... Speechless...

I don't know what to expect later on. I know for sure, it is my last time purchase this hosting service. And I am happy to tell others if they ask what is the worst hosting companies. Fatcow is number 1 for me.

FatCow persuaded me to buy what they called their 'complete package'. It cost me $2400 and after 6 months I have no website. They promised to build one but their web designer had no clue and strangely, had difficulty understanding

 even simple concepts- not helpful. I was doing most of the work myself - designing the site, layout, pages, text etc, even though I was paying them. The staff turn over rate was very high too, and no one seemed to know what the other members of their team was doing. The marketing manager called me after 5 months saying he could find any sign of my site online, no SEO rankings, etc. I had to point out to him that that was because his staff had never actually built my website or launched it! But they had taken my money though. I asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere. Guess what? they refused. So much for their 100% money back guarantee. Please avoid this company at all costs. Don't waste your time or your money.

My website is down all the time. My buttons don't function and I get calls from frustrated customers all the time. They erased all my photos. Now they are trying to get me to pay again by holding my email hostage. I'm documenting all of this and am starting a class action lawsuit.

I have signed up for FatCow to host my business website. It is a small business and has a moderate traffic. My reason for choosing FatCow was obviously the compelling price.So a quick review of the features:

The Good:
- Price
- Awesome Support: Their Live Chat work amazingly well and the support reps.

are very well informed.
- The goodies that come along in the form of ads for Google & Facebook
- Their Go Green Policy

The Bad:
- Their File Manager can undergo a lot of improvement. With no standalone extractor, you have to queue your file for extraction and this is very slow. Looks like small point but believe me, it sucks to wait long.
- No SSH
- Sometimes, the traffic spike abruptly, the site goes down.

What I should know before buying:
- Any offer they give out is valid only for the first year. The next year, you will have to pay the standard price.
- Check out their affiliate conditions. Some traps there!

I contracted with Fat Cow in 2016 for a domain plus some support services. The cost for all of this was about $150plus about $20 per month for one year. They refused to end my subscriptions after one year despite the fact that I opted out of automatic renewal.

Now they've started on the third year of charges despite my protests. Today I saw a charge from Fat Cow for $452 on my card. I have not requested services from them since 2016.

I have tried to end all automatic renewals. I plan to contest this with my card vendor. If that doesn't work I will be hiring an attorney.

Find another host or swim at your own risk. You have been warned.

FatCow.com once was a great company when they had technical service in Canada. Now it is in the Philippines. They once advertised in Wired magazine, I don't think they do anymore.

I started with FatCow in 2006 when the service was decent. I knew to call late at night rather than in the daytime. Now the calls are routed to the Philippines where the service staff are rude, and today I asked the same question 8 times before I received an answer.

The current front page shows a 50% off first timers charge of $4.08 per month however there is no plan that is double that fee. The 'full price' fee is $179 per year. A month before the payment is due they message you stating you are $466.20 past due (the three year fee) although you aren't really past due but your control panel won't show that you have to call in to get that sort of information.

I previously paid for more than 3 years so my new fee had jumped more than $100 yearly. I assumed I was upgraded to a different plan accidentally and requested the lower plan. They emailed back the yearly fee would be $83.40,but I still was unable to locate that fee in the control panel. It doesn't actually exist, I was told today this is my special rate only good for one year.

My review focuses on the policy of support for Fatcow. They outsource to the Philippines for support so hmm, say when something happens to delete some files on Your Site and you try to find out why, you will have to be authenticated each time you try to Chat with someone or call in. You can not just ask a general question to their Chat advisors.

You Must give a username and domain that you have with them. SO if you head to work, and try to pull up a chat session while you have some free time on your hands and you do NOT have credit card info or the security question answer, you are in for a LOT of head banging against the wall. But it gets better, because Once you are authenticated, you will find that after a certain amount of time, they will start repeating themselves with their copy and paste scripts that they are giving you for answers.

When you try to ask certain questions, they do not understand, so they see a key word and latch onto it and then They will try to steer the question and answer in that direction. It all makes for a Very frustrating experience if things go wrong. I know what you are thinking, YOU the reader will simply ask for a supervisor or a level 2.

Well you are Wrong! You can ask for a supervisor or level 2 but those are Specialists and supervisors are somehow, Always on the phone or in a meeting and they are not available to assist you. Specialists only seem to live in e-mail and chat, but not chat with customers.

Specialists will apparently chat Only with the level 1 tech support people. Specialists will NOT contact outside customers, only internal chatting... Go ahead and try to get a supervisor on the phone.

You will be placed on hold several times and then it seems that at least for me, Twice I was told that a supervisor would call me back. Currently, I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back, but the first time no supervisor called me. Personally speaking, I hate it when you can not speak to an American about a problem.

When you are looking for answers you will have to settle for getting answers that are kind of similar to maybe what you asked. But you will have no choice but to settle for those inaccurate answers if you go with Fat cow. My overall opinion of this company after dealing with their support they get 2 stars out of 5. I would have given them a 1 star if their software interface really sucked and 0 stars if I ended up slamming down the phone at any time, which I almost did, but those people on the other end of the phone, they Really want their jobs because they will take a large amount of heat and not flinch at all.
